Literary Festival
The SFBC hosted its first African-American Literary Festival on October 2, 2010. The AALF was a free event for families, adults, and children. Features included forums, vendors, book signings, a children’s corner and spoken word competition, and a Pink Diamond Award Ceremony for featured authors: Virginia DeBerry and Donna Grant, Kwame Dawes, Mary Monroe, Donna Hill, Marissa Monteilh, Thomas Hundley, Rhonda McKnight, Brian W. Smith, Shani Greene-Dowdell, and Rickey Teems II.
Thank you to all attendees, sponsors, honorees, vendors, and special literary friends! We had a phenomenal time. We appreciate the support, and look forward to seeing you at the next one. – SFBC
