In The M.O.O.D Lounge, Zondra Hughes conveys the need for sexual liberation through poignant, yet erotic scenes that lure readers into the lives of battered souls-only to challenge them to search their own private closets for oppressed sexual injustices. From the very beginning, readers will find themselves drowning in the despair of stupefying sex, bombarded with pleas of frustration and vivid incidents of abuse that are at times a bit overwhelming. Luckily, Hughes rescues us with the introduction of B.O.B. (Battery Operated Boyfriends), Dr. Rizzo's symbol of sexual independence, and encourages us women to take sexual bliss into our hands, literally . Readers are even graced with manuals and references to help women achieve the Big "O". By the end of the book, I found myself sighing in relief, dreaming of starting my own movement in the South.
