Twist by Angie L. Jennings is the story of a young woman whose life becomes so twisted with shame, hurt, and pain that she hires a therapist to help rebuild her self-worth. Sharin, who was nicknamed Twist back in college, reflects on her school life, where a series of failed friendships and other relationships make her question her love for herself. There were times throughout the book when I thought Angie L. Jennings was videotaping my personal life!

Twist is a realistic story about a college girl who, by searching for love the wrong way, becomes numb to her own desires and real love. The writing style is authentic and personal. I was highly engaged in this book due to it feeling as if it were an autobiography or biography of one of my friends. -  Sistah Shauna
