By far, I believe this is the best of the Hightower Series. But let me back up. Officially, there are only four in the Hightower Series: Protect and Serve, Make It Hot, The Law of Desire, and Sizzling Seduction. However, since Maritza and Terrill had some unfinished business, Ready For Love, needed to be born.

And did it enter the romance stratosphere with a bang!

Ever since they met, Terrill and Maritza had tried to mask their burning desire for each other through stare downs (really desire-filled gazes) and petty spats (really lovers’ quarrels twisted into something comical). Readers will love the back and forth between the two that explodes quite often into oh-so-beautiful expressions of love that’ll make your literary toes curl. The crux of the novel is the backdrop of familial love and the healing power of touch, of body and heart.  What Terrill helps Maritza overcome is remarkable.

Ready For Love is perfect reading for any time of the year, but since it was released this October, it made my holiday reading list! If you want a heart-warming love story wrapped up in a  feisty Afro-Latina bow and taped together with some rich, honey-colored, unrelenting love, check out the “unofficial” final installment of Gwyneth Bolton’s Hightower Series. And pick up the others, too! – Sistah Tasha

Did I ever tell you that I love romance with a touch of paranormal? OMG! I was already a G.Bolton fan, but she hit the ball out of the park with this one.

Two lovers’ souls are reincarnated to finally make it right, all the while battling the recycled battle between good and evil. Brilliant storyline. Stunning characters and touching subplots make Make It Last Forever an up-all-nighter, but what I really appreciated was the realness of the heroine. She was an au-natural beauty with the sass and brains many average brothers couldn’t handle. Yet, Darius, the Will Smith status mega-hunk, was determined to be a part of her revolution—whether or not he (or she) believed in fate.

Do I recommend this novel? Absolutely. Even if you can’t get into the “woo-woo” stuff, there’s enough family drama, foe woe, and HOT lovemaking to keep you entertained and oh-so-satisfied all night long. - Sistah Tasha

“. . . So good it made her cry.” Goodness, like Minerva, I just can’t get enough of these Hightower men! The Law of Desire is my second reading in this series; and, honestly, I didn’t believe it would or could be better than my first, but I was pleasantly mistaken. The passion and desire between super-fine, decorated cop Lawrence and his spite-fire but charismatic Boo, Minerva, is nothing less than toe-curling. G. Bolton’s witty play with suspense wielded me to the end, and the lip-biting, word-stuttering intimacy left me breathless at moments. I’m simply addicted to this series. And, though my start was unorthodox, I’m forced (with a big smile) to backtrack with the former two Hightower men . . . I just can’t get enough. The Law of Desire—a beautiful story seasoned just right with a little crime and mistrust, and a big helping of the infamous L-word—would satisfy the most critical romance buff. - Sistah Tasha

Sizzling Seduction took me back to the beginning of my love affair with reading—a cozy, under-the-blanket-with-a-pink-mug-of-hot-chocolate feeling. A steamy romance between flawed but lovable characters, two wills against all odds, and body-torchin’ intimacy . . . Gwyneth Bolton crafted the perfect recipe for a heart-melting love story.

A quick read for me, but a novel rich with culture. Subplots involving family histories of secrecy and conflict and heart-felt lessons on the perils of domestic violence make Sizzling Seduction a provocative read for book groups everywhere. Though this is the last in a series and my first experience with the legendary Hightower men, the book stands alone with just enough delicate innuendos from previous novels to entice me to backtrack and discover just how the other three brothers sweep their women off their feet. In fact, as soon as I placed this novel on my bookshelf, I eagerly grabbed book number three. - Sistah Tasha

Protect and Serve by Gwyneth Bolton is an outstanding, well-developed romance that ignites your emotions and thoughts as you turn the pages! When Penny comes home to deal with some family issues, she doesn’t realize that she will be forced to deal with the past that she thought was done and over with. . . Jason Hightower. Secrets and lies form a wedge between the two, but true love conquers all, if given the opportunity. This book really hits home and rekindles hope in those who have been brokenhearted, or to the one who has broken someone’s heart. The author conveys to her audience of readers the optimistic message that in discouraging situations, no issue, no span of time, or difference can break two people who are truly in love. - Sistah Shauna

Hot! Once the pages start cooking, they quickly catch on fire! An awesome love story that showcases the benefits and even the fears of falling in love.

Samamtha, a true professional, is afraid to love and afraid of her family’s secets. However, all it takes is a Hightower to breakdown even the stongest. The strong Hightower men are every woman’s dream.

This read has hot love scenes that will make you read them twice. Pages flip quickly and steam up as the main character’s fears are erased. The twist and turns and family woes makes it even better. Bolton has taken the firefighter from the front line of fighting fires to puting out all Samantha’s fires and fears! From beginging to end, the chemistry is undeniably HOT. - Sistah Teesa
