Bended Knees is a touching collection of stories about the happenings of everyday life. With titles like “Forgiveness”,” Against the Grain”, “A House Divided”, “Soldier Surrendered”, “Joy’s Gift”, “Baby Boy” and “Mister are you My Daddy?”, there is something in one or more of these stories that everyone can relate to. Issues like wayward children, paternity deception, non-believers, and mentally ill family members are addressed throughout the pages of Bended Knees but each story reminds of God’s love and the power of forgiveness. My favorite stories were “A House Divided” and “Joy’s Gift”; however, all of the stories were well-written. Bended Knees is a good read especially for someone going through or who has been through one of life’s many tests. You will find yourself rejoicing at the testimonies that arise out of the many tests in this novel. - Sistah Connie

I read this book in six hours because I just couldn’t put it down! Keshia Dawn tells a story of a woman who was jilted and betrayed by those who were closest to her; but, by God’s grace she was able to forgive and be healed. The reactions to being told you could be HIV positive are illustrated in a realistic manner, and the characters and situations are believable. I think the author did a great job in bringing awareness to such a sensitive topic. There were a few grammatical errors, but they in no way affected the readability of the book. - Sistah Tashmir
