Embedded within this story is the constant struggle of one woman, Sandra Lyte. It is here that she come to know the true harshness that reality can bring. Never experiencing love, Sandra immediately becomes smitten by someone who would forever change who she is. As the plot of her new life thickens, she comes to the realization of not just how hatred can effect her self-esteem and self-worth, but also how it can turn her into a human monster, therefore giving no regard to the value of life. With the involvement of drugs, slander, and corruption of a force she holds so highly reguarded, life as she knows it in the city of New York could very well be over.
Dwayne Murray does an excellent job bringing you into the book, rather than just the experience of reading it. From every addiction, cruel act, thoughts of despair and scenes of brutal revenge, you feel as though you are living the harsh and cold realities of the characters' lives. This book not only portrays reality in its true sense, but it also projects the unfortunate outcome of homes where children suffer from abuse emotionally, physically, and mentally. |
